The Olds Pee Wee Huskies are set to start their 2021 football season.
Head Coach Dennis Yurchevich says the Huskies have 31 players who have signed up to play this year and it is the biggest team they have had in a few seasons.
The Huskies head to Innisfail to take on the Cyclones this Saturday in their season opener, according to Yurchevich.
They will play 6 games prior to the start of playoffs. Their home opener is on Saturday, September 18th against Sylvan Lake.
Yurchevich explains what adjustments they are having to make after the new COVID-19 mitigation measures were implemented over the weekend by the Alberta government.
He adds, the Olds Bantam Bulldogs have about 19 players registered for this season.
Yurchevich says the Olds Amateur Football Association will be at the Olds Community Showcase Information and Registration Night on Thursday on the Auxilary Ice Surface at the SportsComplex, so it is not too late for interested players to sign up for the Bantam Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have 19 players so far and they go to Drumheller for their first game on Saturday against the Terrapins.
