There are 1,040 individuals hospitalized in Alberta due to COVID-19 – that is another all-time high for the province. The number of COVID patients in intensive care units is 230.
20 new deaths have occurred. The number of lives lost due to the virus in Alberta is 2,594.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 is 20,304 – down by 613 from September 21st.
973 new variant cases have been identified.
There are 5,606 active cases of COVID-19 in the Edmonton Zone, 5,389 in the Calgary Zone, and 3,515 in the Central Zone.
Crossfield is down to 34 active cases of the virus. Sundre is down to 53, the Three Hills/Highway 21 area is down to 75, Olds is down to 90, the Didsbury/Carstairs/South Mountain View County area is down to 116, Sylvan Lake is down to 138, Innisfail is up to 162, and Rocky Mountain House is down to 277.
Red Deer County is down to 334 active cases of COVID-19, while Mountain View County is down to 167.
More than 262,000 (262,148) Albertans have recovered from the virus.
As of September 21st, over 5.8 million (5,875,001) doses of vaccine have been administered in Alberta. In Sundre, 55.3 percent of people of all ages have been immunized with at least one dose, while 49.4 percent are fully vaccinated.
