Colby Browne, Tyler Green and Hudson Norris all scored their first AJHL goals on Friday for the Olds Grizzlys.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to help the team secure its first victory of the season. A 5-2 lead slipped away for the Black & Gold as they lost 6-5 in overtime to the Lloydminster Bobcats at the league’s Showcase weekend in Brooks.
Josh Zinger and Noah Hackett had power play goals for Olds against the Bobcats.
Former Olds Grizzly Zafir Rawji netted the OT winner and added a pair of assists for Lloydminster.
The Grizzlys will carry a record of oh-3-and-2 into Sunday’s afternoon game at the Centennial Regional Arena against the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
All 16 Alberta Junior Hockey League teams will play twice in front of college, university and pro scouts during the four day Showcase in Brooks.
