As heard on 96.5 CKFM, Kyle Venneman from Olds was one of seven different goal scorers for the Grizzlys as they won a special exhibition game on Friday, October 29th.
The Black & Gold beat Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team by the score of 7-1. Colby Browne, Josh Zinger, Andrew Wallace, Aiden Coupe, Kieran Raymond and Noah Hackett also tallied for Olds. Browne opened the scoring on a first period power play.
Jill Saulnier from Halifax, Nova Scotia had the lone replay for the Canadians.
Over 900 Central Alberta hockey fans were on hand at the SportsComplex to catch a glimpse of Team Canada.
The Olds Grizzlys are one of four Alberta Junior Hockey League squads on the centralization schedule of games for Team Canada on the Road to the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Up next for the Canadians is a clash with the Kodiaks on Wednesday, November 3rd in Camrose.
The longest AJHL homestand of the 2021-2022 season continues for the Grizzlys on Tuesday when Brooks comes to town.
