Hockey Alberta has unveiled the list of 80 male hockey players born in the year 2007 who will attend Team Alberta’s upcoming U-16 summer camp.
The camp will take place from July 5th to the 10th in Red Deer and one of 8 goalies to be invited is Corbin Sanderman from Three Hills.
The 15 year old Sanderman backstopped Team Black to the championship at last month’s Alberta Cup in Red Deer. In the championship final, he made 43 saves during 70 minutes of action and then stopped all three players in the shootout as Team Black beat Team Grey 6-5 in a shootout.
He talks about what it was like to play in the prestigious U-15 level competition.
Sanderman had a 2.40 goals against average, a .911 save percentage, a 16-2 record, plus two shutouts last season for the U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme. He talks about how he plays in net.
Sanderman will be trying out for the U-18 team in Airdrie next season and he hopes to play either there or for the U-16 Avalanche in Airdrie.
He will also be listening to hear his name called when the Western Hockey League holds its 2022 Prospects Draft next Thursday, May 19th.
96.5 CKFM spoke to Corbin Sanderman on May 5th.
