The Western Hockey League’s 2022 Prospects Draft was held on Thursday.
The Medicine Hat Tigers picked forward Gavin McKenna from Whitehorse and the Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna first overall.
The Red Deer Rebels used their first round pick to select defenceman Luke Vlooswyk of the Calgary Bisons U15 AAA program.
Goaltender Corbin Sanderman from Three Hills and the Airdrie Xtreme U15 AAA program was selected in the fourth round by the Everett Silvertips.
And the Vancouver Giants made history in the 13th round when they selected the first ever female to be picked in a WHL Bantam Draft – they chose blueliner Chloe Primerano from North Vancouver, B.C. and the Burnaby Winter Club Academy.
