Innisfail RCMP are reminding drivers that summer is here and we’ll soon see an increase in construction along major highways and roads.
Please slow down in construction zones, obey signs at all times and stay alert for workers near shoulders or meridians.
RCMP will be performing periodic speed enforcement in construction zones, fines in construction zones are doubled.
It is also important for vehicle drivers and cyclists to pay attention to each other.
Cyclists are reminded that they need to follow the same rules as drivers, including right of way at intersections.

Innisfail Alta. – Summer is here! School is over, and the construction season has also started. This means more people on our streets, and more traffic on our Highways. When operating a vehicle on the road please slow down and pay even more attention when encountering a construction zone. The people working are there to make our roads better, and safer. And their safety is of the utmost importance. RCMP will be performing periodic speed enforcement in construction zones throughout the summer. Penalties is construction zones are double.
It is also important for vehicle drivers and cyclist to pay attention to each other. Did you know that when on your bicycle, you need to follow the same rules of the roads as if you were driving a motor vehicle? Including the right of way at intersections. We want to make sure that everyone enjoys a safe summer!
