Two nights of Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association racing are in the books at the 116th Vermilion Fair.
The top time on Night 2 belonged to Rob Nordick from Ardrossan, Alberta. His outfit got around the track on Friday in 59.93 seconds.
Track announcer Terry Cartier had the call on our sister station in Vegreville – Country 106.
The top three in the aggregate standings so far are Mike Cooke from Lloydminster with a total run time of 119.66 seconds, Neil Salmond from Weekes, Saskatchewan with a 120.35, and Rob Nordick with a 120.72. Salmond had a 61.36 on Friday, while Cooke had a 61.60.

The chariots start at 1pm on Saturday. The top three times for the carts on Friday night were Dwayne Dubuc with a run of 55.71 seconds, Heidi Leach with a 59.35, and Greg Bell/Savannah Big Charles tied with a 59.38. Dubuc is the overall leader after two nights of racing.
