Hockey Alberta announced the team staff for the 2022 Prospects Cup on December 22nd.
The event will feature eight teams of 2009 born male hockey players from May 11th to the 15th at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre in Red Deer.
The Olds Minor Hockey Association will be represented by Jason Jaffray.
The 40 year old forward played nearly 50 regular season games in the NHL, over 600 in the American Hockey League, and almost 200 more in the German Elite League. Jaffray will be an Assistant Coach at the Prospects Cup for team Capital Green.
Jaffray is currently the Head Coach of the U13AA Olds Grizzlys.
The 2022 portion of their minor hockey regular season is set to begin on Sunday, January 2nd at 3:15 when they head to Rocky to face off with the West Central Tigers. The U13AA Grizzlys are coming off of a gold medal performance at the SSAC (South Side Athletic Club) Christmas tournament in Edmonton. Olds is currently seventh in the North Conference of the South Central Alberta Hockey League with a record of 7-9-and-1. The West Central Tigers are third in the North Division with 11 wins, 3 losses, and 4 ties.
