The Viking Ag Society welcomed the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association to the Cloverlodge Stampede Grounds over weekend.
As heard on our sisiter station Country 106 in Vegreville, a two-day APCCA event in Viking saw John Stott from Gull Lake post the top time of 82.19 seconds on Friday and he followed it up by being the fastest chuckwagon again on Saturday with an 82.91. His winning total aggregate time of 165.10 was just a little bit quicker than his dad Jack Stott from Lacombe’s time of 165.38. Jack was second during both performances. Dale Young from Olds claimed third place with a total time of 170.42 seconds.
John Stott from Gull Lake also had the quickest outfit in Viking for the chariot races. He was first during both performances and wound up with the top aggregate time of 160.28 seconds. Adam Waldner from Ferintosh was second with a 162.73. Kevin Desjarlais from the Elizabeth Metis Settlement was third with a 166.17.
The 2021 APCCA season continues with a three-day event in Patricia, Alberta from September 3rd through the 5th.
