A substance use awareness and community connection afternoon is coming up on Thursday, September 16th in Olds.
Addiction Counsellor Jody Tomm with Alberta Health Services says it is replacing their International Overdose Awareness Day event, which had to be cancelled due to the weather on August 31st.
According to Tomm, they will be set up for a scaled down version of it in the Provincial Building Parking lot from noon until 3pm.
Tomm says representatives from Olds College Health & Wellness, the Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society, Accredited Supports for the Community and more will be on hand for the September 16th event.
Tomm says to stop in and check out some resources as they raise awareness for overdoses in Alberta.
The Guaco Taco Food Truck will also be there to provide lunch.
