786 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the past 24 hours in Alberta. About 12,000 (12,114) tests were conducted for a test positivity rate of approximately 6.5 percent.
There are 928 individuals hospitalized in Alberta due to COVID-19. The number of COVID patients in intensive care units is 203.
18 new deaths have occurred. The number of lives lost due to the virus in Alberta is 3,006.
The number of active cases of COVID-19 is 10,824 – down by 1478 from October 18th.
401 new variant cases have been identified.
There are 2,773 active cases of COVID-19 in the Calgary Zone, 2,603 in the Edmonton Zone, and 2,011 in the Central Zone.
Sundre is down to 11 active cases of the virus. Crossfield is down to 21, Olds is down to 20, the Didsbury/Carstairs/South Mountain View County area is down to 36, Innisfail is down to 45, Sylvan Lake is down to 66, the Three Hills/Highway 21 area is down to 79, and Rocky Mountain House is down to 143.
Red Deer County is down to 120 active cases of COVID-19, while Mountain View County is down to 47.
More than 303,000 (303,920) Albertans have recovered from the virus.
As of October 19th, over 6.3 million (6,389,130) doses of vaccine have been administered in Alberta. According to the data on the alberta.ca website, 71.3 percent of people of all ages in Innisfail have been immunized with at least one dose, while 63.1 percent are fully vaccinated.

The head of Alberta Health Services says 92 per cent of its full-time and part-time employees have submitted proof of double vaccination against COVID-19.
Dr. Verna Yiu says that includes 92 per cent of A-H-S physicians and 97 per cent of I-C-U staff.
She says seven per cent of A-H-S staff have yet to submit their vaccination status.
Dr. Yiu says less than one per cent of A-H-S staff and physicians are seeking an accommodation to the policy.
