The Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire Baron Tweedsmuir Chapter are re-kindling a Remembrance Day tradition.
Their “No Stone Left Alone” ceremony is set for Friday, November 5th at 1 at the Olds Cemetery.
The IODE is a local women’s group in Olds aimed at making life better for all members of our community.
In the past IODE has marked service men and women’s graves with poppies on Remembrance Day – but as member Dianne Powney explains, COVID has changed that tradition.
While the public may not be able to attend the ceremony, Powney explains the importance of reflection and honoring our past.
“No Stone Left Alone” has been a tradition in Olds for many years, according to Powney.
Powney details who the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire are.
