One of two events on the opening weekend of the 2022 Canadian Professional Rodeo Association season was the Broncs and Honky Tonks Spring Rodeo in Medicine Hat.
Winners included Wyatt Gleeson from Sundre in bull riding, Clint Laye from Cadogan in bareback, Harley Cole from Okotoks in steer wrestling, Dawson & Dillon Graham from Wainwright in team roping, Kolby Wanchuk from Sherwood Park in saddle bronc, Wyatt Hayes from Granum in tie-down roping, Suzanne Depaoli from Longview in barrel racing, and Nash Loewen from Winfield in junior steer riding. Ben Andersen from Eckville was second in saddle bronc, and Morgan Grant from Didsbury tied for second in tie-down roping in Medicine Hat. See the full results here.
The other event on the opening weekend of the CPRA season was the Dawson Creek Exhibition & Stampede Spring Rodeo in Dawson Creek, B.C..
Winners included Matt Richardson from Olds in steer wrestling, Clint Laye from Cadogan in bareback, Tyce McLeod from Waldeck, Saskatchewan and Kody Potts from Barrhead in team roping, Dawson Hay from Wildwood in saddle bronc, Eric Dublanko from Thorsby in tie-down roping, Diane Skocdopole in barrel racing, Coy Robbins from Camrose in bull riding, and Glen Erickson from Sundre in junior steer riding. Zeke Thurston from Big Valley was second in saddle bronc, and Shane Smith from Wimborne was second in tie-down roping in Dawson Creek. See the full results here.
CPRA cowboys and cowgirls have two tour stops coming up as part of the second weekend of the 2022 season and they are both in Alberta – the Kananaskis Pro Rodeo in Coleman, as well as the Drayton Valley Pro Rodeo.
