A three day event in Viking, Alberta concluded on Sunday for the Alberta Professional Chuckwagon and Chariot Association.
The top aggregate time in the chuckwagons was clinched as part of Heat 8.
Track announcer Terry Cartier had the call on our sister station Country 106 in Vegreville. Tracey Stott from Olds had the fastest time on Sunday as she circled the track in Viking in 76.89 seconds. Adam Waldner from Ferintosh was second with a 77.21 and Jack Stott from Lacombe was third with a 77.37. Waldner and Stott were in Heat 5.
Tracey Stott earns her first win of the season thanks to an aggregate time for three days of chuckwagon racing of 232.71 seconds. Mike Cooke’s Lloydminster outfit – driven by John Stott – was second with a total run time of 233.52 seconds, and Waldner placed third with a 234.13.
Cory Noel wrapped up the APCCA tour stop in Viking on Country 106.
In the chariots, Dwayne Dubuc from Vegreville’s outfit – driven by Brett Dubuc – had the quickest time on Sunday of 75.56 seconds. Greg Bell from Camrose was second with a 76.31, and Bob Leach from Melfort, Saskatchewan was third with a 76.84. As a result, Bell wins the show in Viking. His first victory of the season saw him post a three day aggregate run time in the carts of 229.91 seconds. Dwayne Dubuc was second with a 233.23, and Tyrel Miller from Drumheller placed third with a 234.64.
Up next for the APCCA is a three day event from August 19th to the 21st in Westlock.
