Seasons Retirement Communities Press Release:
[Olds, AB] December 19, 2023 – Seasons Olds & Olds Encore has once again displayed its community spirit with its annual Holiday Food Drive. The heartfelt initiative, which ran from December 1 to December 14, brought together residents, family members, and staff in a unified effort to combat food insecurity in their local community.
Seasons Olds & Olds Encore rallied its community to donate non-perishable goods delivered to the Mountain View Food Bank Society, their local food bank partner. The initiative aimed to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing food challenges during the holiday season.
According to Food Banks Canada, the average weight of a single meal is approximately one pound. Seasons Retirement Community took this metric to heart, setting a goal to surpass last year’s impressive contribution. In 2022, the compassionate efforts of Seasons resulted in the collection of 3,044.5 pounds of non-perishable goods company-wide. This equates to over 3,000 nourishing meals provided to individuals and families in need.
“At Seasons, we believe in the power of community and giving back. The annual Holiday Food Drive is a cherished tradition that allows us to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who may be struggling,” said LeighAnne Voll, Chief Operating Officer of Seasons Retirement Communities. “We are grateful for the overwhelming support from our residents, their families, and our dedicated staff. Together, we can brighten the holiday season for our neighbours in need.”
Since 2016, Seasons Retirement Communities has focused its corporate giving efforts on local food banks in the towns that residents and team members call home. To date, Seasons has donated more than a quarter of a million dollars in funds and food to local food banks. Seasons is proud to do its part to support local communities, especially during this time of great need.
