The Olds & District Chamber of Commerce has heard a presentation from the Economic Development Officer for the Town of Olds and Invest Olds.
Sandra Blyth spoke to members of the Chamber during the annual general meeting at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion on Wednesday, March 13th.
She says the Town of Olds is working with local municipalities, plus key regional and provincial stakeholders to advance the Next Generation Economy Initiative (NGEI). Blyth adds, it is an extensive three year-industry and economic growth plan of action.
Blyth notes they are targeting the month of June to get a large survey out online, and all business will be engaged to participate in our community and our region.
She says local Chambers of Commerce are represented by business, they are exactly the people the Economic Development Action Committee (E-DAC) wants to talk to, they want to partner with their Chambers, and the Chamber is represented on E-DAC.
According to Blyth, their Economic Development Action Committee is steering the ship on both BREWD, and the Next Generation Economy Initiative. She says BREWD stands for Business Retention Expansion & Workforce Development.
Sandra can be reached at the Town of Olds office by calling 403-507-0756.
